We want to tell you about our littlest Alpine Girls Fastpitch All-Star softball team. The girls range in age from 7 to 9 and on any given night of the week you can find them practicing batting, bunting, catching, throwing, and sliding. They may be tiny, but they are a hard working and dedicated group of girls. Last weekend, much to everyone’s surprise, they qualified for the ASA California State Softball Championships in Lancaster, where they will be playing against teams from cities much, much larger than our little town of Alpine.
This is the first 8U team to accomplish this since 1995!!!
Our families are trying to cover travel costs, food, and lodging from July 3 through July 6. In Lancaster, each team participates in a pin exchange at the opening ceremonies and they participate in a 4th of July Parade where each team dresses up in matching costumes. We are trying to keep costs down, however the pins, costumes, travel, and lodging expenses are still high for our families.
We are currently looking for community and business sponsorships and or donations for our team. It is tax deductible. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you for your consideration. Our girls are so excited to represent Alpine!
If you are interested in donating, please contact Team manager Lance Paden at (858) 354-5562 or lanceapaden@gmail.com

The 2014 Alpine Knockout 12u All Stars is a Girls 12 and under fastpitch softball team that represents the Alpine Girls Softball Association. These All Stars are a part of a competitive fast-pitch softball organization dedicated to teaching softball, teamwork and sportsmanship to ladies of above average athletic ability. We chose our 11 girls from a small group of 33 in and around the Alpine area. Other leagues have hundreds of girls to chose from. We have some of the most talented young ladies right here in our own backyards of our small town! Our goal is to provide a fun and family-friendly environment that prepares our young ladies for high school softball, college softball and life. Our goal from the beginning of our All Star season, was to qualify for the 2014 ASA Western “B” National Championship in Roseville CA July 28- August 3rd 2014. Our girls accomplished that goal this weekend by finishing in 5th place at the ASA Southern California State Championship in Lancaster Ca.
We are very proud of the accomplishments of our girls and we need your support to assist us in our goals. While the team will conduct fund-raising activities such as bake sales, car washes, the cost of traveling to Roseville for a week outweighs the proceeds realized from these endeavors. Each girls goal is to raise $2,000 per family. That’s a total of $22,000. Your contribution would significantly help us in reaching our goals. The team is coached and organized completely by volunteers. All sponsor funds will be used strictly for the girls to reduce the financial burden on their families.
2014 Alpine Knockout 12u All Stars accomplishments:
If you would like to help our girls travel to Nationals by making a donation please make checks payable to Alpine Girls Softball Association. A.G.S.A. Is a 501(c)(3) organization and all donations are tax deductible.
All contributions are greatly appreciated. Thank you for supporting our team

Teams had their first scrimmage of the season and the girls U14 team even got to play against the coaches! Youth and adult referees got to practice their skills and gain valuable experience. Families seemed to have a wonderful time spending the day together watching and playing soccer, eating Kona Ice, hot dogs, and sliding down the 3 huge water slides.
The AYSO board would like to thank everyone who came out and participated in making this such a fun event!
